Properties:

Chlorine gas is used in water treatment to sterilize drinking water, sewage and wastewater, and other types of water reservoirs. Chlorine gas also is used as a antiseptic, algaecide in food processing systems, pulp and paper mill systems, and commercial and industrial water cooling systems.

Chlorine should be stored in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area in tightly sealed containers that are labeled in accordance with ISO9001:2008 Qualified. Containers of chlorine should be protected from skill to weather, extreme temperatures changes, and physical damage, and they should be stored separately from flammable gases and vapors, combustible substances (such as gasoline and petroleum products, hydrocarbons,  alcohols, acetylene, hydrogen, ammonia, and sulfur), reducing agents, finely divided metals, arsenic, bismuth, boron, calcium, activated carbon, carbon disulfide, glycerol, hydrazine, iodine, methane, potassium, propylene, silicon, hydrogen sulfide and water, carbon monoxide and sulfur dioxide, moisture, steam, and water. Workers handling and operating chlorine containers, cylinders, and tank wagons should receive special training in standard safety procedures for handling compressed corrosive gases.

Storage

• Cylinders and ton containers have fusible metal plugs that will melt when the temperature gets between 158 and 165 degrees F to relieve pressure. These pressure relief valves keep the containers from rupturing during a fire. Chlorine may be stored indoors or outdoors, though shading from sunlight is recommended for outdoor storage.
• The chlorine storage area should have a well-maintained chlorine gas detector installed, complete with alarm and call-out capability if a leak occurs when the plant is unmanned.

• Separate the chlorine storage area from incompatible materials, especially ammonia, sulfur dioxide, and hydrocarbons like fuels and oils.

The unit comes with all safety features as per norms. The tanks are provided with all accessories like safety fittings, valves, pipelines, Excess flow valves, internal valves, are provided as per requirement. Chlorine gas tank are built in accordance with the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code and are rated for 16 Bar . Tanks should be mounted on concrete, masonry or structural steel supports and on firm concrete or masonry foundations.

The chlorine tonners are provided with all accessories like safety fittings, valves as per requirement. Chlorine containers are built in accordance with the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code and are rated for 16 Bar. The chlorine tonners manufactured by us are rigorously tested and certified prior to dispatch and confirm to various international specifications, codes and DOT specifications for storage and transport of Hazardous gases.
The tonners are designed to withstand impact loads and are Finite Element Analysis tested to study stress concentration and fail safe design , Reverse dishend design allow expansion of volume in case of an accident by reversal of dishend curvature and prevent mechanical failure .
